Market your Small Business

Your business may be under a year old and you may not have the money to spend on television related advertising, but that’s okay. Most of the advertising that makes a dent in an audience’s mind doesn’t always come from spending a royal mint anyway. In fact, much of your advertising can come free; save a buck or two and still get the exposure you want.

Take a look at these ideas:

Yes, social marketing is on the rampage, but are you using the opportunity to its fullest? You may have an account with Facebook or LinkedIn, but do you actually participate on a daily basis? Do you offer coupons, sales and other offers for those who “Like” you? Do you bring in more customers by being fully connected to the social networking community? Do you respond to comments and initiate your own?

Do you chat or twitterchat with other business owners about what makes their business successful? Do you participate in live web chats? Many are free and offer valuable insights to new business owners.

Do you carry around post cards over business cards with your company information? Not only can you fit more facts about your business on a postcard, you can mail it or hand it to someone at a chance meeting. Post cards are not easily lost and can be purchased cheaply at your favorite printer or online facility.

Keeping your business up and running means you must market yourself. Learning what you can do to bring the customers in is only half the battle—the other half keeps them coming back for more.
